Description:

Heaven Gallery is a not for profit art gallery devoted to exhibiting the work of new and emerging artists. In 1997 Dave Dobie established Heaven in the Flat Iron Building in Wicker Park, Chicago. In July 2000 the gallery moved across the street to its current location, 1550 north Milwaukee and Doug Lussenhop joined as music and video program coordinator.

Heaven Gallery showcases new artists as well as new forms of art including painting, sculpture, photography, theatre, dance, film, video, digital art, sound, graffiti, and more. Heaven has monthly exhibitions as well as various video, sound and music programs on a regular basis. Some of the artists include Maire Kennedy, Jeanne Medina, Rob Lomblad, Tom Palazzolo, TV Pow, Perspects, Calvin Johnson, Eric Fensler, Cat Chow, Heidi Van Wieren, Jon Leone, Patrick Welch and many others.

As well as gallery space, Heaven also offers free studio space for qualifying artists. The gallery has two large rooms and a large terrace that are ideal for many types of project.

In the Wicker Park Neighborhood, Heaven has been screening for 2 years.

In 2002 (starting in May) - screenings on may 2nd and 3rd at 10pm and then every third saturday starting in June at 10pm.

To submit a video or any length to be considered for the heaven video series please send a vhs or dvd to 1573 N. Milwaukee #469, Chicago Illinois 60622 with a check or money order for made out to Heaven Gallery. If you would like the tape returned please include a SASE.

About Heaven Video Screenings

Heaven video series is a bi-monthly screening featuring independent film and video makers from all over. Screenings are held in the 300 person capacity gallery or outside on the deck if weather permits. In September heaven presents the best of heaven video series screening for the Around the Coyote arts festival. Heaven gallery also hosts such film and video festivals as Group 101 Films, 5X8 film fest, Independent Exposure and The bike messenger film fest.
