Film lovers, beat back the June Gloom with a new slate of eye-popping, mind-bending cinematic shorts!
CINEMA OBSCURA's "June Jig" screening takes place Thursday, June 19th at 7:30pm at the WildCat Lounge (15 West Ortega Street in downtown Santa Barbara).
Featured selections include “Employee Orientation,” a reinterpretation of a 1967 Detroit Diesel company party home-movie; “C-Flat,” an intricately animated collage inspired by a Dadaist poem; the talking toy film “One Trick Pony;” a cinematic love-letter to McDonald’s Restaurants titled “Compositions in Red and Yellow,” and the meditative work “Silence,” a hand-processed Super-8 film. Filmmakers in this month's show hail from Germany, Dallas, Gainesville FL, Portland OR, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Victoria BC, and the United Kingdom. Total running time is 62 minutes.
Tickets are .00 at the door, and seating is on a first-come, first–served basis. Once again, there'll be a WildCat discount drink special for all cinemagoers.
