A single evening in two parts
Microcinema International has teamed up with the Cultural Office of the French Consulate in Houston, to produce the SECOND ANNUAL FETE de la MUSIQUE et de la LUMIERE, a collaborative indoor/outdoor event that blends music, film, and the visual arts. You are also invited to bring along your own musical instruments and lighting devices.

In the tradition of the long-time French custom on the summer soltice - bring your own instruments and lighting devices to perform outdoors.
Featuring the music of the SPACE CITY GAMELAN GROUP
Gamelan music is the traditional percussion orchestra of Indonesia made up of hanging gongs, pot gongs, chime instruments and metallophones. Space City Gamelan is an ensemble made up of volunteers that are commited to learning and performing traditional gamelan music while supporting the creation of imaginitive new music for gamelan.
The Space City Gamelan Group will commence their performance at dusk, accompanied by a selection of film curated by microcinema.
