Film lovers, save the date! Add some sizzle to your summer on Thursday, July 17th at 7:30pm --we'll be serving candy-colored cocktails and screening thirteen animated shorts at the Cinema Obscura. Come join us at the WildCat Lounge (15 West Ortega Street), where you'll see films that are NEVER coming to a theatre near you...
Featured selections include "Walk" by Jeff Drew, a casual stroll through a wacky cut and paste neighborhood filled with drunk clowns, smoking grandmas, and sidewalk preachers; "Roots" by Baerbel Neubauer, a lyrical hand-processed short where color and forms are painted, drawn and stamped on blank 35mm film; "Sugar-Coated Girl" by Nyeland Newel , a playful pastiche of appropriated imagery; and an encore screening of the hilarious short “Tales of Mere Existence,” which uses animated line drawings to express every neurotic thought and insecurity in one man’s mind. Filmmakers represented in this month’s program hail from the UK, Japan, Germany, Toronto, New York City, San Francisco, and New Mexico. Total running time for the program is 70 minutes. And once again, there'll be a WildCat discount drink special for all cinemagoers.
Tickets are .00 at the door, and seating is on a first-come, first–served basis.
