Jill Johnston-Price was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada and lived in various cities in southern Ontario before moving to the United States for graduate work in cinematography. While in graduate school in Florida she organized film programs in the Tampa area. She currently lives in Columbus, Ohio.
