Bio:
Stephan Larson has been producing animated short films since 1990 with his first notable short Mondrian, a Revisitation screened at the 1992 Athens International Film and Video Festival. Mondrian, a Revisitation was a completely computer generated film, a technique Larson had been dealing with for over a year and has continued to work with ever since. His filmography includes nearly thirty short films that have been shown in over eighty film festivals nationally and internationally. Working with abstract and formal themes that have been developing for over a decade, his films are non-narrative, they develop thematically in the creation of synthetic realities. In addition to animating, Larson has been teaching computer graphics and animation since 1996. He continues to work freelance within the broadcast special effects industry and his special effects work for local productions has been broadcast regionally and on ESPN. He currently calls the snowy shores of Lake Superior home.
