Bio:
Grace Lee is a filmmaker currently based in Los Angeles. Her most recent short film BARRIER DEVICE, starring Sandra Oh, won a 2002 Student Academy Award, a Directors Guild of America Student Award, and screened in festivals around the world. Grace was also featured in Filmmaker Magazine’s annual “25 New Faces of Independent Film.” Grace recently completed her MFA in Film Directing at UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television where her award-winning short fiction films screened at festivals as diverse as Cannes, Los Angeles, Films de Femmes, Krakow Film Festival, Women in the Directors Chair, Independent Exposure, the French cable channel Cinecinemas, and on Atomfilms. She is currently in production on THE GRACE LEE PROJECT, a public television-funded documentary about people named Grace Lee that humorously dissects what it means to be a contemporary Asian American woman. She is also writing and developing other feature film projects that she plans to direct.
