Bio:
Amy Harrison has been creating short films and videos for over 10 years. Her work has been shown at the Berkeley Art Museum, Bay Area Now 2 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Southern Exposure Gallery, the Film Forum in New York, and numerous film festivals. She has received many grants and awards, from the NEA, Film Arts Foundation, and the UC Institute for Research in the Arts, among others. Harrison is inspired by the shifting scale of the natural world in relation to the human body: a scale of size as well as of time. Her short films and video works explore the intersection of autobiography and landscape, placing memory, longing, and fantasy within nostalgic and iconic depictions of nature. Her latest works are light-hearted meditations on death, the law of gravity, and other unseen forces of the natural world.
