Bio:
Mark O'Connell probes and pushes the emerging representational, juxtapositional possibilities afforded by today's expanding range of digital media. After a score of years in music--as a performer, composer, and producer--he now works with a variety of media: still images, video, film, music and text; all manipulated as digital information. The finished pieces are generally delivered via videotape or Quick Time computer files. His work has been exhibited in a wide range of venues. Mark O'Connell has released two DVD collections of work, "No Commercial Value" and "Just Kill Me." "No Commercial Value" contains shorts made over the last four years, while "Just Kill Me" holds the best of his work done between 1992 and 1999. O'Connell's work has been seen worldwide and received tremendous critical acclaim. The DVDs are priced at $22 US and can be ordered from his website as indicated above.
