Bio:
I was born in 1940 at Coulee Dam Washington to a Russian immigrant and the daughter of a Yakima apple grower. I grew up in Seattle, became an ardent Christian Scientist at 7 (until 22), caught polio at 9 and turned into a compulsive student. I graduated in 1962 from the University of Washington with a degree in Electrical Engineering, discovered that I preferred not to design communications gear, but use it. I left for L.A. where I learned filmmaking at USC and UCLA. In 1968 I moved to the San Francisco area to live with my wife, Marjorie Franklin, where I worked in educational media to support my films and myself. In 2001, I moved to the Twin Cities, then to Joshua Tree CA in 2004. Some of the films are: INFECTION, THEY BROUGHT THEIR OWN COFFEE, INFECTION, WORDS ON THE SCREEN, and WATER LILY.
