Bio:
Filmography/Awards Info: 1. We wanted to make a simple comment on the image of women on screen. 2. 9 months 3. money -- even though this is a short film without anything but a doll on screen the lab costs, etc. add up. 4. This was a short film (3 splices) made by two filmmakers: we shot it, recorded sound, mixed the tracks -- we stopped short of cutting our own negative. No war stories on this film; it was the smoothest production of any film we've ever made. 5. We shot 3 rolls of 7248 (I think) filmstock on a Bolex. Edited on a flatbed (we only made 3 splices), recorded SFX on a dat. 6. I love looking through the camera and framing the shot. 7. I live in Los Angeles. Kristy lives in San Francisco. LA has an energy to produce, to move from concept to screen very quickly. That has its good and bad side to it but I use that drive to fuel my ideas. 8. To me -- Microcinema is the essence of cinema. 9. Independent is such a corrupted word at this point in time. Its current definition means films produced outside the Hollywood studio system, but inside another system that of "independent" investors. 10. When you make a film go all the way with your ideas, make it your style. 11. Can't get into my ideas at the moment. 12. M. Antonioni, Chantel Ackerman, Kenneth Anger, Shirley Clarke, Sam Peckinpah, Carolee Schneeman 13. L' Avventura, Kustom Kar Kommando, Jeanne Dielman This Contact appears in this database if Microcinema International has screened a film directed by the Contact, a film directed by the contact is featured in a DVD distributed by the Blackchair Collection Shop, or featured an organization or activity linked with the Contact.
