Bio:
Many years a writer, JD Ligon received his MFA in Experimental Writing from Brown University where he studied under such notables as John Hawkes, Robert Coover, and Edmund White. After moving to the west coast, he began experimenting with film and had shorts screened at the Sundance Film Festival in 1993 and 1996. Then, seeing the promise of digital video, he began experimenting with this new medium and the reduction of the filmmaking process. Over the course of several films he eliminated sets, crews, scripts, and eventually, actors until he arrived at his latest work: The Real Adventures of GI Joe which is a narrative told entirely without words. Currently, he is developing his feature film California 2.0, resides in San Francisco with his wife Amy and daughter Lucy, and works for Improved & New™ Advertising, all alternative media advertising agency which he founded.
