Bio:
After graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute and studying under the king of trash cinema, George Kuchar, Michelle Silva went on to make and perform a series of campy, disturbing, and sexually charged films with gritty textures, saturated imagery and barely obscene content . Her work has a broad spectrum varying upon subject matter ranging from personal works, experimental narrative, and can transcend to pure abstraction. Silva is currently working on a compilation DVD of performances by Otomo Yoshihide creating frenetic visuals in response to his use of found objects and sound.. Silva is also currently working on several film projects with avant-garde master Bruce Conner and serving as staff and board member to motion picture film distributor, Canyon Cinema.
