Bio:
My practice predominantly explores the spirituality of everyday activities, including a short film about finding God whilst doing the washing up and a series of animations about the everyday experiences of a monk living on the roof of a skyscraper – www.wastingtimewithGod.com While there is wonder to found in seemingly everyday activities there is also something more sinister. My films 'Please Release Me!' and 'On Hold' featured on Independent Exposure offer a critique of mobile phones and their all-pervasiveness. Mobile phones are designed to bring us closer to our friends and make our lives more convenient, but in practice they seem to make us even more lonely and frustrated. Filmography/Awards Info: Winner of Undercover Surrealism for 'Washing Up Liturgy', 2006 Hayward Gallery, UK. Runner up in newcomer category for 'Washing Up Liturgy', 2006 Darklight Festival, Ireland. Winner of film category for 'Please Release Me!', 2006 Digital Convergence Initiative, USA. Winner of funding scheme leading to the production of 'Please Release Me!', 2004-05 Pocket Shorts, UK.
