Bio:
Laura Heit has an MA in animation from the Royal College of Art in London and a degree in film from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her new film “Look For Me” was commissioned by Channel 4 Television (London) as part of the Animator in Residence scheme (www.a-i-r.info). Laura has made several films, which have shown internationally including “Mary Anning and Her Monsters” which won first place at the Milwaukee International Film Festival 2004. She currently teaches at Cal Arts in Los Angeles and is a director at Slinky Pictures London. Before moving to London, Laura worked as a puppet designer and director in Chicago. She has also been a member of Redmoon Theater, Theater Dank, and En Fuego. She has also toured with her one-woman performance “The Matchbox Shows,” wherein tiny puppet shows are presented within the stage of a matchbox.
