Bio:
Kim Collmer is located in Germany and moves between Berlin, Cologne and Schwaebisch Hall where she is Guest Professor at the local university. Kim makes animated films using stop motion animation and 2D digital techniques which sometimes get integrated into installations. She also creates underwater films (including one underwater animation) and she has experimented with VJing. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also taught before relocating to Germany. She has exhibited internationally in festivals and exhibitions, with reviews published in the New York Times and the New Yorker magazine. Additionally, Kim curates animation screenings through the Director's Lounge in Berlin.
