Bio:
George Drivas received an M.A. in Film and Media Studies at Freie Universitaet, Berlin, Germany and a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Athens, Greece. He is the recipient of numerous awards namely, 2nd prize at VII Media Art Forum, XXVII Moscow International Film Festival, Moscow, Russia (2006), 2nd prize at the Zebra International Poetry Film Festival, Berlin, Germany (2002); Jury Award for Experimental Short Film at the New York Expo, NY, NY (2002); and Award for Best Greek Audiovisual Work Abroad by the Greek Ministry of Press and Media for Short Documentary (1999). His work has been featured in “Young Greek Artists – In Present Tense” at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens, Greece (2008), “Les Jeunes Cinéastes D'aujourd'hui" at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, France (2007), Media Art Forum, XXVII Moscow International Film Festival, Moscow, Russia (2006); Video and Digital Arts International Festival, Girona, Spain (2005); International Film Festival of Thessaloniki, Greece (2004); Poetry International Festival, Rotterdam, Netherlands (2003); Dactyl Foundation for the Arts and Humanities, NY, NY (2002); and One Minute World Festival, Sao Paolo, Brazil (2001).
