Bio:
Michele Beck is a multidisciplinary artist working with video, sound, performance and sculpture. She completed her Bachelors in Art History at New York University and Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture at Parsons School of Design. Michele teaches at the New School University and the International Center for Photography in New York City. Her essays, focusing on cultural critiques and art pedagogy, have been published in NY Arts, Surveillance and Society in the U.K and Ideologica Ádhuc in Reus, Spain. Michele is a two-time recipient of a Special Opportunity Stipend from the New York Foundation for the Arts as well as a recipient of the Manhattan Community Arts Fund Grant from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. She was awarded two residencies at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2004.
