Bio:
Born and raised in rural southwest Viriginia. Received BFA in Art History/Studio in 1984 and MFA in Electronic Media in !984, both from Virginia Commonwealth University. Artistic work began in creative writing and photography, and evolved into digital time-based work. Early work involved programming on Apple II's and video synthesizer experiments. Currently work is "Falling Back to Earth:Tomatillo" a digital animation, and another work "Between Frames" is in progress. Working as an animation instructor at VCU, in the Communication Arts and Design department. Was assistant chair/coordinator of undergraduate studies of that department for 3 years. Will be on research leave for the spring 2003 semester, pursuing studio work and written research on location in LA and Santa Cruz, CA. with the support of the VCUArts school in Richmond, VA. and the iotaCenter in LA.
