Bio:
Amy Hicks (Writer, Director, and Producer) is based in Oakland, CA. Her first film, "Eve’s Motive" a playful retelling of “The Fall of Man” on super-8, screened at Artists’ Television Access in 1999. After receiving a Film Arts Foundation grant in 2000 she shot "Hatching Beauty" on a larger film gauge (16mm) and learned to edit digitally. The award-winning "Hatching Beauty" has appeared internationally at New Langton Arts, the Big Muddy Film Festival, Ladyfest Bay Area, Antimatter Festival of Underground Short Film & Video, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival among others. Her 2nd film is also on tour with the Genetic Screenings Film Series premiering May 2002 at the Henry Art Museum in Seattle. For work, Amy gets the occasional freelance photography gig. Recent clients include Film Arts Foundation, San Francisco State University, documentary filmmaker David Brown, and the musical duo Dandeline.
