Bio:
My films explore the process of transformation. They originate in the subconscious, forgo the traditional use of dialogue, and rely instead on the utterance of imagery and sound. My task, as a filmmaker, is to create a visual piece which, like the process of transformation, is muddied and blurred in places, scratched and scorched in others, and yet resolute in direction and form. In order to achieve this end I hand process my film, manipulate it in the developing tank, scratch, paint and bleach individual frames, and otherwise distort projected images, treating the film as my canvas.
