Bio:

Utilizing a broad range of techniques Caz examines the gender architecture of power structures in the construction of identity be they based in nationality, music, technology or film and T.V culture. She highlights the positioning of authority and the ownership of opinion within a community as well as the individual. Fundamentally, her work is grounded in personal experience and by the context of its creation.

Caz has recently presented in Northern Ireland; Slovenia; The Netherlands, Japan, Art In General in NYC, Boston¡¯s Mobius Gallery, Edinburgh¡¯s Fringe Film and Video festival and at Thaw, the International festival of video, film and new media, in Iowa USA. Caz is a 2002-3 recipient of the Visual Arts Research Residency at the Center for Contemporary Art in Kitakyushu, Japan. As an active freelance curator, Caz is engaged in the compilation and presentation of contemporary video makers. Recent programme commissions have been for Hull Time Based Arts, Boston Cyber Arts and Video Lounge in NYC.

as a founding member of this grass roots arts organization based in Dundee, Scotland, I was part of the committee that founded the charity status, wrote its constitution, established studios for 9 artists with CAD facilities and wrote the business plan for (currently housed) project space for the group. Presentation wise I oversaw the writing of grants from The National Lottery, The Scottish Arts Council and specific local Councils and presented RADAR an international exhibition of contemporary Art (1998), secured artists and the funding for Far Away and Radiate (1999), and numerous members exhibitions and screening nights. I was also the proposal writer and project consultant for the An Invitation to Kiss exhibition, 2000.
