Bio:
Born in Seoul, Korea, Eunjung Hwang lives and works in New York. She completed an MFA in Computer Arts at School of Visual Arts, New York in 2002. Her animations and new media works have been shown at a number of exhibitions and festivals internationally including Exhibit 3 (The Digital Hub, Ireland), Impakt Festival 2003(the Neteherlands), Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, SIGGRAPH 2003 (USA), Stuttgarter Filmwinter(Germany), [d]vison 2002(Austria), File 2002: Electronic Language International Festival (Brazil) and International Festival of New Film (Croatia). She was artist in residence at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces in Melbourne, Australia as a laureate of UNESCO-ASCHBERG bursary for artist for 2002 – 2003. She has received Award of the State Capital Stuttgart for New Media at the 16th Stuttgarter Filmwinter (Germany), Kala Art Fellowship (USA) and Kitacubo Award at Japan Digital Animation Festival. She is currently artist in residence at EYEBEAM, a new media organization in New York.
