Bio:
Potter-Belmar Labs is a duo who have collaborated for over 6 years in a variety of media, almost always incorporating elements of video and audio in their work. Whether as components to interactive sculpture and installation, single-channel work, or performed improvisational sets, these artists utilize moving image and sound in unique and engaging ways. Jason Jay Stevens has composed audio works since he was a child, with a career spanning punk rock and noise ensembles, sound sculpture, scores for video, and performances of all sorts. He scores Potter-Belmar work on a computer, using a combination of original and found sound. Leslie Raymond’s work with the moving image followings a line from photography to analog video and 16mm film & optical printing to digital video and non-linear editing. As VJ Future Worker Girl, she performs live on a Videonics MX-1 video mixer, combining highly processed digital video loops with samples from the local video store & library.
