Bio:
The Alabama Filmmakers Co-op (a.k.a. The Film Co-op) celebrates film and filmmaking. Our primary goal is to foster an appreciation of film and video as art media, and as powerful tools for mass communication. One of the ways we do this is by offering our members and the public opportunities to see independent and alternative films. We host touring film festivals and screen movies not found anywhere else in town. North Alabama residents depend on us to show them something different. Our members include filmmakers, film teachers, sound professionals, equipment operators, actors, individuals who support independent productions, and many who are purely interested in these films from a viewer standpoint. We carry out our role through the support of our members, an active board of directors, and dedicated volunteers. Membership is open to anyone interested in being a part of our exciting and growing organization.
