For Independent Exposure's 13th year premiere edition we assembled a program of 15 works from seven countries which speak to these turbulent and energized times. In the wake of the FLDS Polygamist compound raid in Texas we present Fourteen, a film which exposes the inner working of an unfamiliar society. Power, oil and war are dealt with head-on in Missile Command and Gemini 6. This program also features this year’s Grand Prize winner, Rise, which recounts the creation of humankind. This powerfully relevant compilation shows the effect our daily news and world events have on the art created by international emerging and established filmmakers.
