John seeks distraction from his lonely life as a truck driver with TV dinners and his favorite videos. When an evening's viewing brings a rude shock, John is forced out of his quiet routine, setting off on an awkward quest. Highlighted by an immensely affecting and subtle performance from Dick Kayso as John, John and Mia is a touching and emotional tale of an inept father's kind-hearted but clumsy attempt to revive contact with his child.
