Short Synopsis:
A fusion of visceral image and sound that interweaves an ancient fairy tale with the story of one woman's emotional journey through the loss of a loved one. These two tales become one in a collage of narration, live action, still photography, animation, and an original drum 'n' bass score.
Long Synopsis:
Beneath a sodden sky, black as pitch, between veils of myth and wonder, reside two heavy hearts. One, a dragon born human, the other, a human grown fragile, the two share an unspoken bond that is powerful, intimate and equally vulnerable. For their own reasons, both friends have come to feel that the world is not their rightful home. Their long-time friendship fades as each secretly grows to feel more alienated and unworthy of their world and each other.
Frustrated and despondent with his inability to connect to the only world he has ever known, the dragon seeks solace in the sea, drowning his frustrations, his sadness, and also himself. For his mortal friend, the dragon’s passing becomes a profound lesson in the relationship between love, faith and risk. Her quest to reclaim her friend’s love transports her on a journey of self-discovery. With courage and a bit of magic, she finds within herself a new sensitivity towards others, and more importantly, towards herself.

Musician Info:
VICTOR SZABO
A highly trained jazz musician and skilled composer of electronic sound, Victor Szabo has wholeheartedly committed himself to the advancement of electronic music. After his graduation from the prestigious jazz program at Humber College, he deejayed various underground nightclubs and formed both the Cookie Break Ensemble and the Tirips jungle crew— groups dedicated to the performance of free-form jungle music. A collection of Szabo’s work to date is available on two independently produced CD’s. In addition, his piece Ailo (rmx) is featured on Noise Factory’s Beautiful Noise compilation. As an avid supporter of the Toronto arts scene, Szabo lends his talents to the independent filmmakers. To date, Victor has scored for a handful of short films, including Kristiina Szabo’s Dragonfly and Lindsay Keslick’s Strange Fruit. In all of his disciplines- as deejay, film composer, and audio scientist, Victor is happy to supply his audience with progressive, challenging music. He is ecstatic, though, if they dance to it.
