In each of the first four scenes a different man is sitting on a bench. His hat is near him on the bench. Troublemaker appears and sits on the hat.The first man (phlegmatic temperament) picks up his hat and puts it on without emotion.The second (sanguine temperament) man makes Troublemaker stand and then begins laughing at the crushed hat. Troublemaker laughs too.The third man (melancholic temperament) realizes the situation and begins crying. Troublemaker cries too.The forth man (choleric temperament) realizes the situation and begins shouting and beating the Troublemaker with the newspaper he had been reading.In the fifth scene, a man (hat wiz) is sitting on the bench by his hat. Troublemaker appears and begins to sit. The man quickly snatches up his hat just in time to save it. He puts on his hat. Troublemaker sits on the bench.
