After (taste) examines the sense of taste as appropriated to illustrate emotional experience. The aftertaste is familiar to us as a consequence of eating. Capricious in its comings and goings, the aftertaste is a reminder of our urges and desires. It has no tangible shape, and yet can distinctly occupy the space of our mouth and throat: filling, spreading, and then dissipating without notice. This short video explores the act of tasting through the language used to describe it, exposing the depth to which we use this sense to also characterize ourselves.
