Makor is a place where New Yorkers of all backgrounds can feel comfortable expressing themselves, and where they can find meaning and inspiration. Makor is a place where you can rediscover Jewish life without losing your identity, where you can hone your talents while appreciating those of others, where you can cultivate the avant-garde while finding out about your roots. Makor reaches out to New Yorkers in their 20s and 30s with opportunities to connect and learn through imaginative programming in the arts and entertainment, education and service to others. Additional Information: The Steinhardt Building's state-of-the-art, 72-seat screening room, equipped with 35mm, 16mm, video technology and Dolby Digital Surround Sound, is home to six different monthly film series that include classic and art-house cinema, Jewish-themed movies, documentaries, Israeli film and Makor premieres and retrospectives. The Screening Room shows films five nights a week in the evenings.
