Description:
Cinema Slam - Your chance to see your stuff BIG! -Bringing together independent filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience. -Offering moving image artists a forum for their work. -Providing the public an opportunity to enjoy microcinema on the BIG screen. Cinema Slam's home is at the Michigan Theater, a historically restored movie palace located at 603 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor directly across from Borders Books and Music. The Michigan Theater's 24-hour movie information line is (734) 668-TIME and the web site address is www.michtheater.com. Independent filmmakers everywhere are encouraged to submit their short films for consideration. Anything from professionally produced 35mm films to VHS home movies are applicable; art for art's sake! Approved films will be included in the program. Cinema Slam is not about winning. This monthly event is an opportunity for moving image to present their films on the big screen. It is a chance for beginning and seasoned filmmakers alike to get some solid exposure and honest feedback. We encourage audience feedback through detailed comment cards and an informal talk-back including audience members and filmmakers at a local coffeehouse after the show. There is no cost per entry at this time. Films should be no longer than 20 minutes and should be submitted on VHS or DVD. All tapes must be labeled with the running time, filmmaker's name, complete mailing address, telephone number and e-mail address. We can not guarantee the return of materials. Submissions should be sent to: Michigan Theater Cinema Slam Attn: Amelia Martin, Program Director 603 East Liberty Street Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104
