Description:
Pharmakon was a loose collective from Manchester, UK, founded from 2001-2003 and organised by Dave Griffiths and Nick Jordan. Our activity included producing, distributing and exhibiting video-and-sound-based art works. In 2003 we released CODEC/X, a DVD which featured collaborations by 28 video artists and sonic investigators from north-west England - the programme toured worldwide in a diverse range of artist-run spaces, such as microcinemas, gallery and site-specific installations, outdoor screens. We also presented live AV performance, gig visuals, and web-streaming. Additional Information: 2001-2003 we have screened work in England, Scotland, Holland, USA, Canada, Thailand and Australia. We're interested in exchanging works with similar small labels and artists organisations, to increase the diversity of low-budget m oving image available to the public in north-westEngland, and internationally. No events have been screened at this venue
